The South African Ready-Mix Association (SARMA), the national body which represents all the reputable readymix companies in southern Africa, has given a perfect accreditation score to the NPC Concrete plants in Margate and Marburg.  This means that NPC’s ready-mix batching plants have passed SARMA’s stringent requirements and standards regarding environmental, safety and quality issues with full merits.

SARMA’s standards include ensuring that all ingredients in concrete production are uncontaminated and conform to SABS quality standards and testing, that batching materials are within a specified tolerance and that customers are receiving what they actually ordered. 

NPC Concrete’s Managing Director Avi Bhoora doesn’t see this achievement as mere chance and heralds it as a group effort.  “Our management and our team worked diligently and very closely with NPC’s respected concrete technologist Rolf Schutte to achieve this outstanding accreditation.  The result is clearly good news for builders and contractors on the South Coast.  They know they can expect top product quality and high service standards.  And we will strive to maintain and expand on this in the future.”

For his part, Rolf Schutte says “The commitment to deliver quality cement products has always been one of Natal Portland Cement’s greatest strengths, and is one of the main reason we joined SARMA in the first place.  Over the years, we’ve achieved this strength by implementing tried and tested procedures and systems that today make quality a matter of course at NPC.  As such, it’s very important to us to have received this accreditation.”

In addition to their operations on the lower South Coast, the NPC Concrete plants in Park Rynie, Tinley Manor and Shongweni have all passed their SARMA accreditation with flying colours.
