Special concrete for life-supporting reservoir
Reservoirs have become something of a speciality for Mornė Heydricks.  His company, Heydricks Civils, which specialises in reinforced concrete, has been contracted to build a one megalitre reservoir, which will make life in nearby rural areas more liveable.  Over the years Heydricks Civils has built reservoirs of various sizes. 
“Our project at Kwaxolo near Izingolweni is one of a number of reservoirs that are currently being built.  The 1 million litres which this reservoir will hold will provide water to smaller reservoirs in the area, which in turn will supply people in the area with water.  
“We received delivery of over 100m³ of water-retaining 35mpa concrete for the reservoir floor slab from NPC.  It is a special mixture and NPC Concrete, which I have been using over the last five years, gives me a consistent and high quality mix. They are very reliable, first of all, and ready-mix concrete is also very cost effective, especially when you consider the distance to be travelled and how quickly they get the concrete to us.  It makes it so much faster and easier for my team working here.”

The reservoir construction project at Kwaxolo near Izingolweni is supplied with a special 35mpa mixture of ready-mix concrete from NPC Concrete for the reservoir floor slab.  The pumped concrete is conveyed by pipe from the delivery truck wherever it’s needed.   At 1 megalitre (1 million litres) the reservoir will supply welcome water to smaller reservoirs in the area for use by the residents.
